Don’t take this the wrong way, but generally if you are selling drugs you don’t sit in a lay by drawing attention to yourself revving your engine and you don’t chase random folk in pick up trucks about in your beat up old car. More likely just a pair of pikey scum bags.
Don't take this the wrong way but that is exactly what they do. These people are fecking morons and think they are untouchable.

Easy solution, once the white powder has been dropped off and while no one is about nip down with a gallon of combustion enhancer and a box of swan vesta,

Hate to defend the police but you would be surprised how much they have to tolerate in order to catch the bigger fish.

Depends on their level I guess. Sure you get daft scrotey kids who want to show off and be a big man. But anyone who knows what they are at...... well I’m not sure sitting in a random lay by revving your engine until the locals turn up..... is very good for buisness. Drug dealers also don’t tend to chase people for no reason.

As annoying as these things can be, probably best left well alone after a call to the police if there is criminal activity going on. The justice system is weighted well in favour of scumbags and well against the law abiding property owner, so unless you fancy yourself as Billy the Kid and want to spend the rest of your life on the run from the law then I'd leave it.

We have a few dodgy folk in our semi suburban area. The general consensus is don't mess with them however badly it sits. They have been known to threaten family and property of those confronting.

Most weekends we get some lads from the village parking up in various Lay-bys close to our house reving their cars, playing loud music and generally being arses at any time between 11pm and early hours of the morning. Last night at about 2.30am they are there again reving the car but no music - or so I thought. I decided I had had enough and thought I would go out, see who it was and then go to their parents house and sit and rev the rubbish off my truck until they came out and give them a bollocking. When I got to the lay-by, it was an unfamiliar car with two youths in who quickly gestured me to F off, I did, but they followed - at high speed. They tried twice to run me off the road and get in front of my truck, Thankfully they were in some shity old Vauxhall and once I got on the main road, I managed to loose them after a seven mile high speed chase.

I imagine that they were looking to meet someone to either sell drugs possibly to the youngsters in the village I mentioned earlier, or were part of some wider drug logistics operation as there have been others caught in and around the village ‘dealing drugs’. I have reported it to the police, who said ‘why didn’t you call us last night?’ The police officer then said ‘well, there is no offence to report but we will log it as an incident’, I thought ‘well that is the reason I didn’t report it, because you would do feck all’

Anyhow, any thoughts of what could be done to prevent/put off these type of pansies from hanging around here in the future? Was thinking cctv in the lay-bys or even confronting the youths in the village (one of whom is a policeman’s son!) as I am sure they are connected but I can’t prove it.

Exciting night anyway, and thoroughly recommend a ford ranger as a getaway vehicle!

Just to add, a quick internet search of the registration of the vehicle showed it to be a white transit tipper who’s last mot was in 2012 and it failed.
A few little shovels of chicken muck dotted about the lay-by will deter them.

I went to our local yoofs gathering place, produced my old English scythe, and started to sharpen it in full view
The sound of central locking was followed by a convoy of brake lights

What IS the point of them ?

In fact I do wonder what is the point in a lot of HMG these days. Police are useless and border control is a farce ... like as though we are run by baboons .. then again they have better bottoms.

I agree to a point, but they are in a crap position. Massively understaffed and resourced, and with time taken up with huge amounts of pointless stuff they have to deal with from the public. They are often used as a political tool, and misdirected. They are always wrong to someone. No matter how many things they go to and deal with there will always be someone who they haven’t gone to and who sees themselves as a priority.

Stuff like the football doesn’t help, nor does our attitude as a population to Friday and Saturday nights!

The other thing about these drug type things. Is ultimately catching a couple of drongos Selling a few ounces of coke, or a couple of kilos of weed, isn’t going to change anything. Sometimes they have to leave those kind of folk crack on, often for years, while they try to snag a bigger fish. If you follow up the chain you start to bump into a lot more naughties than some recreational drugs.

couple of weeks ago my son was in his allotment, Him and others heard gunshots at indusrial estate over fence, they could see a couple of cars and scumbags there, phoned police,,,, you know what I am going to say ,,, yep, still waiting for police to show.
Few year back some summy with dog and his little kid ( well it may have been his,or not) in my field, fired a pigeon scarer rocket across field as there were pigeons on my wheat  did not notice that he was in the direction of where the bang was. anyway, seen him going back to his car and he drove like a scumbag (you may notice I like that word) down main road and past me the did a 6 point turn and drove straight at me, He may have noticed the big rock I had in my raised hand, but he missed, stopped and hurled abuse at me and my wife that he was going to come back and get my family.. ALL the while I was on the phone to local cop shop and the officer quite plainly heard the threat, NO NO not a real threat she says, Utter waste of time the police. It unerved my wife for a while after wards. anyway, the scum quickly drove off when I walked across the road towards him. All this with a 7 or 8 year old kid with him. Oh, the car did not exist by the number plate.
That sounds like a derilection of duty to me and quite unacceptable. No wonder the police are held in such low esteem by so many.

I am sure their job is difficult, under resourced, under manned etc... but without the publics support i.e. eyes and ears how can they hope to achieve their aims ..... in the police service’s Statement of Common Purpose remains a helpful one. It is as follows: The purpose of the police service is to uphold the law fairly and firmly; to prevent crime; to pursue and bring to justice those who break the law; to keep the Queen’s peace; to protect, help and reassure the community; and to be seen to do this with integrity, common sense and sound judgement.

From reading that they seem to have failed on all accounts, but if you are unlucky enough to be just over a speed limit then it seems certain that you will be of interest to the Constabulary.

Quite sad how times have changed and not for the better. Times past a constable would of caught up with the ner do wells and advice would have been given [ or adminstered ] or charges brought forward. Now it seems they do not care unless; your some sort of minority, confused about your sexuality or worthy of " taking the knee for.

Where did it all go so wrong?
