Spotted this in the Agri Trader. A ' replica '. So someone has got hold of 2 Fordson Majors off ebay for £2k each and gaffer taped them together. More to it than that, obviously. How much would it cost to do it ? Is it worth it ?
would you pay £30k for a replica ? If Ernest didn't make it himself, is it really a Doe ?
Discuss.

I agree with you that it should be a lot less than the genuine article but it'll be "worth" what someone is prepared to pay for it, I guess.
I was wondering whether it would be worth trying to make your own. The sum of the parts hardly amounts to £30k ?

Was someone down the west country a few years back who built a county 1884 out of a tw35 and front axle,or hubs and rear axle from a 1454 county.looked good but not original and not worth alot compared to the genuine article.im guessing it may have been ball and ball who built it.someone reading this will know

If Does started making the original conversions again for say, 15K, Would it make the two tractors it were fitted to 30k?
Or is it only tractors that have the "history" that make it work the 30K?

They did an impressive job as l recall and I think at some point it was for sale. Did think at the time a replica might be better than the real thing as you wouldn't be scared to use it!
