Just seen this on eBay; can anyone tell me what it is and do I need one to make my sprinter drill beans? 2011 muller if that helps. Thanks

Looks as though that is the back plate with the rubber strip for the metering system, I think all the proper bean one does is bring the rubber strip slightly further away from the seed roller so there is less resistance on it.
We dont bother with it on our sprinters, just keep the normal one in but do put 4 washers between, on the bolts which brings the rubber flap away slightly.

On ours you have two spacers they pull the black part and the flap away from the roller to give the beans more space so not to jam the metering device up one is a wide spacer for beans and the other one narrow for peas and a new black bit with a smaller rubber flap if you need one I have a set you can have for £75

The bean kit above is designed to increase the clearance when drilling beans and peas, it moves the whole curved plate and flap away from the roller allowing for more room for the beans to move.
It will help by reducing breakage of the seeds and also reducing the strain on the motor if drilling high rates of seed.

just use the biggest roller our drill is 12m so alot of beans going through and never had a problem. previous 8m sprinter (2010) was the same i think.

Crikey...a variety of responses there! 😂 we tend to drill spring beans at 250kg so I might just try it as is or possibly with some washers...how thick are the genuine spacers? 1/2/3 flat washers? I’m assuming that sensor comes out of the black plastic bit we are talking about; I’ve cleaned it but didn’t remove it completely. There was something in the book mentioning that rubber strip being level with the housing and that it’s a wearing part...do you change the whole thing or just the rubber strip?
