Does anyone remember James Herriot arriving on farm?

Does anyone remember James Herriot?
Also I am sure that sombody knows the elderly couple that were on the Yorkshire vet last night. Probably mentioned here before.

If it that old couple with those calves, she is a character and a half. Nice mix of cats and dogs and farming stuff, the older vet has a really nice way about him.

Yes, I knew AW and the seiner partner DS, I can remember both of them coming on this farm and of course Alf’s son, jimmy + Tony Kelly who was at the practice at that time.

My parents were on holiday up by Thirsk, they got yakking to a taxi driver about Yorkshire Vet, and about the Greens, would you like to meet them? asks he, I know them well.
Taxi man took them out to the farm and met Mr & Mrs Green, and very pleasant they were too.
Personally I struggle with YV, and the Christopher Timothy false jeopardy commentary.
The vet who came here when I was a lad was at vet school with, and knew Alf Wight.

I really strruggle with Julian Norton coming all the way from Boroughbridge to Cannon Hall at Cawthorne, 45 to 50 miles each way.

Yet our local vets do the regular work for them, television money talks loudest I guess.

Alf White used to be my Dad’s vet, ( well before my time) and Dad used too take great delight in telling people he changed vets because he didn’t think he was any good with cows [emoji230]!!!

I used to deal with Jean when I worked at a local Agri suppliers years ago.
Always a character, she used to run around the shop!
"How are you Jean?"
"FIT AS A BUTCHERS DOG!"

Was past their door the other day, a big flag is flying ' Yorkshire and proud'
