Does garlic keep flies off cattle?

As above. Does feeding Garlic in whatever form keep flies away from heifers?
Your thoughts please.

Edit. I currently use pour on which does work but prob not the best for dung beetles etc. Plus it's another bill.

We used garlic lick buckets again last year on the heifers and they seem to work. Noticably less flies landing on and bothering them. However we know from the past they are not that keen on licking them compared to normal ones so need to be hungry to take them. These were round yellow ones. Not sure on the brand
I had the opposite problem here. I tried two Buckets and they ate them in a couple of days.
Currently experimenting with a bag of catering garlic powder which I throw over their meal. I thought they would never eat it but again they love it.
No flies yet in this weather though.
