Does straight deal discount still exist?

When I worked at IH agent in the 70's there was a discount for straight deal on new tractors and machinery around
10-12% ,does this still happen? as I am not in trade anymore
When supplying other dealers with rotaspreaders there would be more discount so there would be good profit to start with
Also while on the subject it was cheaper to lease new tractor than pay for it

Dealers used to have a lot to give away, dad bought an Albion truck with 27.5% discount, A Ford D series truck with 25% discount, I bought a David Brown 1212 tractor with 17.5% discount. And a Vauxhall Nova £5,500 list for £4850.

Daft really, 20 diesel filters from the Leyland agents 60% off, commonest diesel filter used at the time like a CAV 296, scratch the leyland sticker off and that's what it was.

If its a car you dont let on your are paying cash or the price goes up, more profit in the finance for maker and dealer than the product, whether it is to the same extent in Ag machines i am not sure.
