Why do people keep bringing dogs and cats in from Romania and other far flung countries etc when there are plenty of dogs here that need rehoming.
They also risk bringing in rabies and other problems which our domesticated pets don't suffer from.
Never mind Romania, what about Mrs Boris ( meddling shrew!) filling a plane with rescue cats n dogs when Afghanistan was being evacuated! Feck me, you couldn’t make it up!

Unfortunately it was going too happen. I bred a litter of collies last year to get a pup too keep. I advertised the rest of the litter as normal for £400. I had 3 calls within an hour all people wanting too buy the whole litter. So I can cancelled the advert and delisted them a week later at £800. In 2 days I had sold the whole litter, and I had that many calls I could pick who I thought should have one! They all went too established dog people, not the “oh we always wanted a puppy” crew. I do tell everyone when they take a pup any issues to bring them back. I’ll have them rather than some rehoming place! There’s always someone asking if I’ve got any strong pups ready to break for work. Some of the return go on too be right Bonny workers!

Pen (is) Farthing is getting a lot of stick from serving and ex Military on some forums for his stupid and irresponsible actions , he left his female staff there and rocked up with a load of disease ridden mutts.

No surprise at all.

The amount of money and effort wasted on animals through ignorant benevolence, selfishness and “charitable” oneupmanship in this country really gets on my tits.

Where is the end point on this journey we’re on? I don’t see a good ending for the humans or animals involved. Can’t go on amassing stocks of waifs and strays and relying on charity donations to keep them alive. I’ve relations who volunteer on a donkey sanctuary, there’s animals there from Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe.

what a bloody joke.

My sister has been drawn in by the animal liberation lot camped outside a beagle farm near Huntingdon. They want all the beagles set free and an end to animal testing.

My thoughts are they wouldn’t use the dogs if they didn’t really have to?

Anyone got some good reasons why she’s wrong? Maybe I could try and make her see a more balanced view?

Depends what they are researching.

Monkeys are closer to humans and pigs are used for ballistic testing so surgeons can practice on similar wounds to soldiers

Theres a couple of daft pansies not far from here, with a full litter of £2000 pups they cant sell as the bubble has burst. Serves the buggers right.

On the flip side, any good potential dog owner can find the right one at the pound, theres going to be plenty to choose from.

Because it's an absolute ball ache of hassle to try and get a dog from the Dogs Trust.
Agree you have to be checked out, but there are others to try.
The dogs which charities here seem to have more difficult to rehome are cross breeds / older dogs which are similar to the ones being brought over from such as Romania adding to the problem.
