Of my three dogs only one will ride on the quad ( he loves it)
The others are fine in pick up or buggy but not quad.
One will run alongside but won’t get on the bike .
Any tips that will get them on ?

The only time I’ve ever “trained “ one to a quad, I sat him on the tank as a pup and lightly held his chest ( holding him against my belly )
Did a slow lap of a field and that was it , he loved it
Trouble with the other two is they are 2 and 3 years old and bought in

Dad had a good dog he bought but wouldn’t go on the bike, it was very annoying. One warm day I drove flat out over the fell so the dog was knackered. When he couldn’t run any further I threw him and held him on the back, he soon learnt that it was easier to ride on the back than run! Always rode on the bike after that.

Don't ride like a lunatic, I wouldn't want to be my own passenger either.

Mine will stay on if on the flat but when they see anything rough approaching they scramble. Doesn't bother me too much, running the dogs keeps them fit.

Fat Dave loves it , no matter what speed or terrain, he’s getting a bit slower and he’s 8 yr old , be handy if the younger ones would ride the bike

My suggestion
Get a group of sheep a short distance away and set up a task the dogs will love doing. Take them on the quad to do this task and repeat until they associate the quad with good times.

Fat Dave had a hard time before we got him, if the pressures on he gets jittery, but when the quads there it’s like a comfort zone, so I just have to say “ on the bike” and he’s sat there chilled
