Our old 86 had the same starter motor as a Porsche for the header reverse drive. It could have been a 928? But I can't quite remember.
Yes, your right 👍
Took the bosch motor into a bosch garage - didn't want to know or help getting a replacement.

Spoke to an independent guy and explained where it was from and he remembered that the Claas used a Porsche starter. He is sourcing a replacement. Well under £200

I just bought a 98s classic and am looking for the settings for cutting oats,i didn't get the correct manual with it.

Im also having electrical gremlins ( switched Power at both reel speed adjuster solenoids, where it should be a switched earth and no earth feed to the reel reverser switch, but cant find a wiring diagram anywhere.

On ours we used to open the concave up fairly well but not all the way so there was a bit of room if it bunged up! Drum and fan speed fairly low, and seive box slightly slightly larger gaps than the book.
The header reverser only works with the thresher in gear. I can't remember how the reel speed variator is wired up but I have taken the motors to bits to free them up as one seized up..
