Donald J Trump will.....MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!

The US have these bases for strategic reasons and because they often have interesting arrangements with the host country as well. Thousand of oil field workers in Saudi Arabia were Americans and I have no doubt some economic aid or trading deal was arranged on the back of it as well.

Bolton illustrates Trump's entire political thinking perfectly. You can see why the bloke has been waltzing from disaster to disaster in business as well. He doesn't have the acumen or focus to arrive at a policy decision and stick to it. He vacillates like a weather-vane and goes entirely on gut feel. You can get 180 degree changes in his personal opinions in short spaces of time. He will sit through an intelligence briefing and then ignore it all and go and tweet something either inaccurate, irrelevant or extremely sensitive anyway.

Basically, foreign leaders can view him as a way of ensuring US policy changes to accommodate them. Lots of foreign leaders tried to repeatedly converse with him in situations where he had few advisers present and so they could strong arm him because he is too dim to realise what they are aiming at. He believes his entire measure of political success hinges on 'deals': he just want something he can tweet or put out on Fox News, doesn't matter what the deal actually encompasses, just wants the PR. He seems to think the these dubious or miscreant regimes are terribly stupid or unable to negotiate, neglecting the fact that most of them have been doing the same thing for decades and are well versed in American threats.
As Chomsky said, the only predictable thing about Trump is his unpredictability.

Biden was too busy getting his son a job at Burisma Holdings in the Ukraine and making millions, then telling the Ukraine government to fire the investigator looking into this fraud!! I mean if Trump had done what Biden did (blackmail) and then admitting it voluntarily on video:oops: for the world to see, he would have been put in jail and had the key thrown away!!
The double standards at play here are frankly appalling.
He wouldn't have gone to jail, the appropriate links to Trump's dirty past would have disappeared, like Epstein for example.

At last a true contender for President. Kanye West with Kim Kardashian as first lady.

The USA is truly becoming a Simpsons sub plot in the world stage. Xi must crack up every morning in disbelief.

The cynic in me thinks it’s a plot to help Trump to a big win.
Both Kanye & Kim are regulars in the Oval Office under Trump.

Yup, desperate times call for desperate measures. This is the part that jumped out at me:

“In 1992, Ross Perot, an eccentric Texan billionaire, took 19% of the vote. In 2000, Ralph Nader’s Green party took less than 3% but was widely blamed for costing Democrat Al Gore the presidency.”

Yes, I am aware of West support for Trump. And he may run then fall away while endorsing Trump. But does have potential to backfire.

Trump won the 2016 election on some technicalities of the electoral college system. He gained some 3 million less popular vote than Clinton. But more importantly and significantly Republicans won specific counties in the rust belt states and it is those counties he needs to win again. Those counties tend to be white, and lower social economic groups.

The politics of Trump are focussed on that sub group and disenfranchising the blacks, hispanics and other groupings that are more likely to vote democrat - and that I find the dirtiest bit of US politics - removing the ability to vote in a country that trumpets its democratic origins - a story that is now not favouring the Republicans and the mid west states. .

A dichotomous country??

Fascinating few months as we run to November.

Was it not Trump that urged our Nigel to work together to defeat our Corbyn.
It worked a treat.
I remember the conversation on LBC that swayed our Nigel.

I disagree, Trump worked harder & smarter than Clinton who thought she was a shoe in, after all the polls said she couldn’t lose.
Trump had 6 stop overs In the day before election.
Clinton had the big Nr states LA NY SFS so why work your ass off.

But hey folk lie in polls These days.

No you misinterpret my post.

Trump did work hard in late October 2016 and he targeted those states and the counties in those states which gave the result.

The quirk in the electoral college system is that having the big number states does not necessarily guarantee sufficient electoral college places. The key counties in the rust belt states gained more key electoral college places per vote that winning another half million votes in California.

An element of similarity to UK where Lib Dems win 15% of popular vote yet end up with 12 MPs. And where Labour need less votes per MP than Tories due to the variable size of constituencies and in particular the small voter size in key Welsh constituencies. And here in UK where majority of votes do not count - yours doesn't nor does mine as your constituency will return a Tory regardless. So the UK election turns on 80 marginal constituencies and thus probably no more than 100,000 swing voters. Likewise certain counties in USA will be the swing counties. So unless Trump can win the popular vote and thus truly ensure large win in most if not all counties he needs definitely to win those key swing counties, as he did in 2016.

I should add if Trump is again in a position where he does not win the popular vote then it is even more imperative he wins those key swing counties in rust belt to gain the number of electoral college seats to win sufficient states.

Well that is how I took an interesting article / review of the 2016 electoral process which I listened to a couple of years ago on BBC World Service. Of course being BBC is was probably all fake news.

I see the chief nazi Steve Bannon maybe coming back to rescue Trump from his Covid disaster in the forthcoming.
election . So it could be full on Nuremberg type rallies for the faithful in the swing states. :depressed:

Fudgin hell!! And to think Farage has already done to the Tory Party, what Bannon and Co, are just about to finish with the GOP in America.
The next five years will tell a lot about how the remainder of this century will pan out!

Chief Nazi !!! ………. I think you will find MS that they are all on the Democrat side of the house with the Communist supporting Obama administration holdovers. Granted some are also Republicans as 3/4s of the corrupt congress swamp dwellers are anti Trumpers. But hey who cares, Trump will walk the election once again by trouncing Mr Dead should he actually make it to election day.
Look on the bright side, the bookies will be offering ridiculous long odds on a Trump win again so you can go into Ladbrokes and fill your boots and then your bank balance when Donald wins:giggle:………………..I did last time......4/1 Yes please.

FFS what do you think Steve Bannon is, Mother Theresa in drag. :ROFLMAO: He is a hard right Fascist, although he also claims to be a Marxist/ Leninist although to me that amounts to the same thing.

Steve is a nationalist that’s worried about the strength of China. I don’t know what that’s got to do with Hitler.
Wheres China are doing in other ways what Americans stopped Hitler achieving.
Now America under Trump is trying to stop China doing a Hitler.

The old man deserves to spend another term in the job, and if that doesn't break him, I hope he gets another term.

If it were up to me he'd be forced to do it.
