Now he reckons George Floyed is smiling down on him ?. In all seriousness ..... can’t they find some chink in the law somewhere, which will allow them to put him in a care home somewhere far, far away.

I rather think Trump is finished which is a pity in many ways but a little humility and understanding is required amongst the big man bluster. I feel that he is fighting indigenous corruption in the US political system which gains him support but ignores inhumanity at base level.

good to see someone able to take a balanced view point. Your pretty much on point.

'Indigenous corruption' my arris.

US politics hasn't really changed, he has just made it more divisive.

Lost count of how many people he has sacked. Trump views organisations and individuals are pawns who should do exactly as he says and tell him exactly what he wants to hear. Doesn't work that way. Long standing civil servants won't stand for that, they will walk, resign or be fired first and rightly so. Many of them are elected to office and have demonstrable track records in their positions. Some twonk President who is only going to be around for a term or two won't make any difference. No wonder so many Senators often stand up and disagree with him publicly, they will be around long after he is gone.

Watching the news will certainly depress you. But it is by no means a slow down in economic activity or crash in the markets that will last two years. The S&P 500 is almost back at record levels and the job market improved significantly in May, much to the annoyance of CNN.

Extrapolate the line from 2018 to end 2019 forwards to now - growth has been knocked back significantly and is nowhere near where it would be if we hadn’t had the crash in March/April. Sorry, but whilst we may be back to the levels of Nov19, we are still well behind where it was heading. The effects will be there for a very long time.

compare it with the FTSE 100 though. America is absolutely crushing just now. Several new multi $100 billion companies created on the last 5 years. Where are the new power houses of British technology and industry to compete with Tesla, Amazon and Alphabet or is the UK now relegated to being a franchise of American industry?
