A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. Or do you believe that the US should be broken up/ carpet bombed/ have its independence revoked ?

Goodness I was not drawing that or any conclusion.

I was just commenting that had read an article headed 'Can Joe Biden Restore the Soul of A Divided Nation' and within the article there were the electoral results I posted to RP in post 114. And an observation, a loose, very loose comment that maybe it is to late - but that is not to say I believe the USA should be broken up. Crumbs I have no view on what the US people should do or say. I am a little old fella in Lincolnshire - just happen to read he Times and post an odd comment in here.

Your comment about the journey was the gist of the final couple of sentences in the article. Except the author was pointing out the uphill struggle.

Cheers.

But RP could well be telling a truth. If I am correct he lives in Rio Grande county where trump won 58% of the vote Biden 40%; and the adjacent rural counties were similar or even more to Trump. Fascinating viewing these county votes for different states and regions of USA.

My particular favourites are the northern mid west states Dakotas, Wyoming etc where there is hardly a Biden county and in many counties Trump won by over 75%. Bear in mid HM I live in Lincolnshire and the Fens. Brexit Central 80% plus voted Leave. And they ain't changed there view (yet)
