Dosing at housing

I'd almost guarantee that weaned calves will need worming if they haven't been done before but should really test them first. Saying that I didn't test mine and wormed them today just because they did look wormy :censored::bag:
Fluke them after 6 weeks housing. old cows won't need anything else if they even need that they might not have fluke at all.
There are better and cheaper combination fluke and wormers available than closamectin.
Hi. What other fluke and workers would be good to use

You really ought to talk to an SQP or your vet about the best wormer to use in your situation and get a proper protocol in place for now and future years to ensure your youngstock are protected as calves but getting exposure to develop immunity whilst minimising the chances of worms developing resistance.

Yes I have heard of it and it is a good price. Do you know can this be used for sheep as well.
So no need for use of spot on
Yrs can be used for sheep but only the straight bimectin not the bimectin plus I don't think. It won't do fluke for sheep and won't do lice either if they are a problem.

Going to be contraversial here but I don't think some of the SQPs are that good at what they should be doing. (Some are obviously) the last one I spoke to didn't know what combined fluke and worm drenches they had in stock for sheep and didn't know what the actives where in most of them. Luckily I knew what I wanted.
Some of them are just salesmen/women who passed the exams to be able to sell stuff :censored: or it appears that way anyway.
I agree with what your saying but think your vet would he a better bet to speak to.

I used bimectin plus this year. It's ivermectin for the worms and closantel for the fluke I think it is from memory. It's like the cydectin that does both but is cheaper. There are other things you could use as well.

Bimectin plus would be Clorsulon which does adult fluke not Closantel which does fluke from 6/7 weeks mature I believe.
