Double wrapped bale carriers

Faced with the prospect of a salvage job getting third cut gathered in, I think we may need a couple of these. Any recommendations for new ones? or has anyone got one sat around in the nettles for sale, preferably close to york
Many thanks

Was that new from him? It looks like they pivot individually, do you find that helps?
yes it was bought new about 8 years ago its a Zagroda.
Put it on the ground as you back up to the bales and the arms will open up on their own owing to the shape of them then just lift it up and they close together on their own to lift the bale, simple but very effective.

Just bear in mind the fusion vario with 2 bales of wet silage on it will be over 8 ton. The NH tractor pulling it will be similar.

If they can travel a smaller bale trailer probably would.

All much of a muchness, if its wet you may want the double lifter that can lift each side individually so as you only lift it once and not mess about getting two together. Fleming offer this but Nugent do it better. Some of the double lifters don't have the facility to 'tip' the bales.

The potential for soil damage is mainly the bale trailer but also the loadall. I got Elseys tyres to look at my trailer with a view to putting flotations on it but its a no go unfortunately. Theres not much we could do for the loadall

Situation update. I have ordered two very basic ( but hopefully very strong) lifters off an independent engineer way out west. They will hopefully help us out this year and possibly when we're taking the first cut off a new ley in future. Will report back with photos when I have them home. Another question though @Drillman, will the fusion put them in pairs if I want him to?

Possible but will be a lot slower with wrapped bales as they will have to put one off then sit still to wrap the second one and put it off.

Be a slow job to put wrapped bales in pairs. Depends how much pressure baler man is under to get job done before it chucks it down again

If it's that wet you don't want to be carrying wrapped bales on a Fusion, you want the bale tipped off as soon as it's wrapped or in extreme conditions the Fusion doesn't move with a bale on the wrapper.
Been working with double lifters for many years, had a pre production Fleming to try 20 years ago and never tried to pair them up with a wrapper or a Fusion because bales that aren't paired up quite right only slow the job down and makes more mess.
If you have a single lifter, a spare tractor and a spare pilot that can lift bales out of the wettest places and pair them up it'll speed the job up.

We've a single wrapped bale carrier on the front and a double on the back. Contractor uses a fusion and depending on the hills some bales are dropped in singles and some doubles. If doubles aren't a perfect lift there's usually another bale nearly lined up not far away so never wasting time chasing bales. Their a quick and easy way to clear a field

Situation report, third cut completed before the weekend with the help of these badgers. Made by Mark from dewhurst steel fabrication near gisburn. As I said in a previous post they are basic and they are certainly very strong. Carried two 850kg bales without the slightest flex. We made much less mess than if we had used the bale trailer and loadall. They will definitely get used again, especially when cutting a new ley for the first time. We did scuff the plastic on a few bales as it was the first time either of us had used this type.

Did this work fine on the front without a hydraulic top link?

This.

I have used my own baler/wrapper or if passable, a fusion and collected with a LGP tractor and single collector and stacked in a row next to a farm track. One year, late cut on really wet land and I baled with the little Krone and dropped the bale immediately and then collected and wrapped 30mins output, then went again, don't like leaving wet bales too long... ;)
