Doxstar and mcpa mix or 2,4D

What rate to mix the two together for best results?

I don't think many folk would mix the two together.
Corteva (Dow) advise against mixing some of their grassland herbicides with phenoxy herbicides e.g. MCPA, 2,4-d as it can compromise translocation of their herbicides to the roots (google; DoxstarPro Tech Sheet)

What weeds have you got that need that sort of mix? I have a feeling you need to be buying a different chemical tbh.

What size and growth stage are the weeds?

I'm guessing docks & thistles... If they are in flower your best bet is a topper then spray the regrowth.

If you have docks and thistles use Pastor.

I have often used pastor and hormone sprays together does a good job, especially if it turns dry and hot for a few weeks afterwards.

Mainly docks 3 weeks after silage cut. A local farmer told me to try it because he thinks the 2,4D takes the dockstar to the roots better. I don’t know just thought I’d try it.

I would use doxstar then and use generic fluroxypyr to bring the loading to the maximum.

24d causes uncontrolled top growth so I imagine the plant would be extracting reserves from the roots to do this. In order for doxstar to work it need to be translocated to the roots when the plant is building root reserves at the rosette/dinner plate growth stage.
