In the early days vets weren’t allowed to call themselves dr, as at the time not as qualified as medical drs. Later on they where allowed, they refused as they where veterinarian surgeons and medical surgeons are titled mr. A few years ago vets voted again on this issue and what swayed the use of dr now, was the ladies no longer having to be called Mrs or miss
That's interesting. I'll have to read the signature on the health plans next time they're due for sign off. Iirc, she wrote her name and her Veterinary letters last time, and didn't put any honorific.
