Oh dear C that is spin. There is nothing comparable between an individual such as Cummings being a dick and a calculated decision by an organisation representing collectively 27 Sovereign countries dealing with the external relations with another Sovereign country, with what was in effect the triggering of an act of War. You are either trying to sweep it under the carpet - and I understand why, or you truly believe what you write, in which case in my opinion you are fail to appreciate the significance of the difference.

As B'oB says the EU attitude was that moment when you realise after a divorce one side has moved on. Those in the UK who recently suggested starting a rejoin campaign had their boat well and truly torpedoed by there friends at the weekend. The English Channel deepened and widened.

Hey ho onwards we go.
Or the calculated decision to break the law in a specific particular way.?

as i see it
Another foot in gob statement from Arsula .

ā€œIt is true that other countries started earlier, but we preferred safety to shortcuts,ā€ she told La Repubblica.
but it was not her job to decide if the vaccine was to be approved they have a medecine regulater

her only job with regard to the vaccine was to ensure that the eu had supplies as quick as was possible eliminating any hold ups
she not only failed but then tried to blame every one else

the medicines regulater would have prevented any vaccine that did not work or was safe from being used

the uk health secretary and his team saw this in april and got every thing possible organised

if a vaccine was not up to the mark there were others to take its place

the uk medicines regulater has been checking medicines for the eu for years
if the commision had been on the ball they would have ensured that the eu regulater was up to speed post brexit

if they had realy wanted to get a vaccine early they would have just passed a law that said they would accept the uks medicine regulater findings on the vaccine
which the uk has been doing before brexit

You are correct. However there is everything comparable between the protocol faux pas, and the internal market bill faux pas!
Deuce!! Next two consecutive points crucial!
But the IM Bill did its job, which was to act as leverage to get things like Article 16 in to the deal. (y) :)

Such simple psychology - uk public/press start calling names like Arsula, will only warm the eu public more towards here.
Carry onšŸ˜Š
It is a relief you EUrophiles never resort to name-calling, after all to do so would clearly be hypocritical and childish. Hang on...

All true but, and I am explaining not excusing her, she is a Doctor and it is understandable because of human nature that she would think she is capable of better judgement on these things that others who have held her position. Very probably she was right in part of that, having a proper clinical knowledge. But she was still wrong in every other way and to take so much on herself - and more so if some of it was for the reasons reported.

doctors may be good at doctoring but doctoring is a very specific job
good gp would say they do not have enough knoledge on every element of medicine and refer to specialists

she should have used here specialists as a good dr would have learnt

when it come

Hypocritical or not, I would say the point is correct (btw, you must realise by now you can call me whatever you likešŸ‘) and certainly, watching french news last night, they were far more interested in Burma šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Glad to read that you Trump-like English Tory Vauxhall lover you. :)

Of course the media over there have no interest in changing the subject, none at all... thing is, it's set a precedent, that's the most important and most stupid thing about it from an EU perspective; and precedents stay, regardless as to whether news blows over.

Nobody is arguing that we are a third country but there are changes over time when products change etc and there is acting like a spoilt child, funny how we dont have these problems selling or buying from the rest of the world, however businesses will find away through these issues
Is there something stopping the selling or purchase of products from the rest of the world?.
The idea and the vote for Brexit was to get away from Eu and there rules. Plenty of promises of trade deal were made over the last 4 years.
The changes over time were to happen over the last 12mths. Everybody knew there position as regard sales or purchase up to 31st of Dec. Dont blame eu as they did not decide to leave anything.
It seems childish now to be complaining that we cant play in the club that we just left or that we cant continue with the crowd that we just got rid of.

Hmmm... the IM stunt was Iā€™m sure partly a leveraging device to extract some badly needed concessions from the EU. That said, the intention was Iā€™m sure to go all the way with it, in the context of rampant ā€œunilateralismā€ being ā€œokā€, in the reign of Emperor Trump, with whom an imminent trade deal, would cement BoJoā€™s forever legacy.
Then the blasted Irish turned up unannounced AGAIN! This time in DC! Game over for any more funny stuff around the Irish border.
Politics! Politics! A week is a very long time indeed.

Unelected beaurucrats don't resign thats why we left. Merkel is quiet because she shifted a german problem to Brussels. Not realising that Ursula would go off piste ignoring advice and go rogue. Merkel wants the presidency or whatever other royal title is available to top up her pension fund.
One Irishman has solved the border along the Irish sea. He sat outside the harbour noting registration plates and all uk and Eu customs people took fright and went home. With very good reason I may add. Anybody that didn't realise N Irish would get the best of both worlds sooner rather than later has got their head up their ass.

The EU commissioners are not bureaucrats they are politicians seconded and voted for from their various national parties for a 5 year term as commissioners, basically acting like EU cabinet ministers.

Something I forgot to throw in earlier - was distracted by the chimp's being off school! :arghh: - was that there's already been another 'fault' from your lot. After a debacle involving NORTHERN IRELAND, the utter f^ckwit speaking for UVDL yesterday chose to throw in papal infallibility... even you can't try and spin that as the best choice of language in the circumstances.*

*In fact its hard to believe it wasn't deliberate, everyone must know about the sensibilities there, and even more so following last Friday. :banghead:

Yes, yes, yes. The Ursula drama is on the back burner now, along with innumerable Boris dramas. Itā€™s now on to the next thing. Perhaps reaching out to ā€œfriends and partnersā€ in Europe to figure out enhancements to the recent trade deal. Time to get this unseemly spat around the EU ambassador sorted. Excellent excuse to call Ursula, commiserate on her recent ā€œdifficultiesā€,. Mention that this ā€œambassadorā€ thing could be ironed out over discussions around a few ā€œloose endsā€, from the trade deal.
