Anyone from Wales calling for the head of the defence minister?
But isn’t that from the Daily Wail. I am surprised you could even think it might be true. Or is it because it supports your opinions

Can't see what this has to do with the incompetent UVDL, but there was a thread some time back discussing this. It lies, at root, with Blair, Brown and Cameron scaling back the forces greatly and, equally stupid, applying 'office' values to them, resulting in the dismissal and appalling retention of good men.

Fortunately... we'll be seeing a reversal of this over the next few years, including some necessary procurement programs - in all three services - that will be contracted to make it more expensive for any future government to cancel them than to see them through.

As for the troops, the plans and money are there for an increase; but getting the right ones takes more time nowadays - at least once in, retention should be better now.

We have noticed the adverts on the telly for the navy.
Mrs Czech pointed out, it never really caught on there:scratchhead:

Relevant to your incompetent defence secretary.
Oh wait , it's the fault of people from years ago. Unlike UvdL, who should have instantly whistled up tanks and aircraft. What's the lead time on these? Mmmm
Different standards your applying there.

I don’t see the problem. Hitler managed to kit up an army in a week. Just March into Czechoslovakia and help yourself, without so much as a memer from the « Allies »🤫

The Bundeswehr has and had enormous and well-stocked armouries, it has and had a good logistical system and sufficient men and vehicles to make the most of it. Tanks aside - though happy to discuss them too - the fact that she had men on the ground unarmed for a sustained period was due solely to her own directions and policy. From memory, but I'll admit I can't recall it to the letter because I had it seconhand from someone who actually cared about it (a German Army officer), when she was asked about this during a Bundestag enquiry, she couldn't offer any other explanation.

The simple truth is that she didn't organise or delegate appropriately... hmm, does that sound familiar?
