When you drain outlet goes into a river ( maintance by an IDB) is it the responsibility of the IDB to ensure clear passage into the river from outlet.I am talking about complete length of silt ,weed going 6 foot into river for the full lenght of river.

Well a meeting with the Chairman and Secretary of the IDB is called for ASAP, surely. You pay rates...??
Goodluck with that, payment of rates doesnt mean work will be carried out or some similar phrase is now put on the payment statement, along with failure to pay will result in court action. Work is pathetic at best if you can get any done

You are joking ,we have been chasing this problem for over 10 years and more,it has just taken 3 years and over to get someone’s backside to site.( farm liason officer)4 weeks to chase for outcome to be told we are talking about it but that’s all.I am not talking about a small drainage ditch this is a main river draining thousands of acres .Only thing left is farming* press as 3 drains blown in one field in the last few weeks simply because the water has no where to go.

IDB's are scared to death of the eco brigade and will do nothing unless they ok it, which they dont.
I thought/assumed that Boards consisted largely of Farmers...

Sounds like that @nelly55 's Board needs a size 12 up their collective arse.

Need to see the Standing Orders and suss out the rules that the Board has to follow, especially in regard to election of new Members.
