Dribble bars. Is 7.5 wide enough?

Currently looking at Storth, major and Slurrykat bars. Was wanting 9m but there’s a big price jump to the 9m slurrykat and major only do a 7.5 anyways.

All salesman have said 7.5m is popular. However I can’t help but think I’m going to be narrower than splash plate. Unless it’s the wrong way to look at things?

Just after a bit of advice and user experiences. It will be tanker ready hatch mounted.
There is dribble bar in this

I would say 7.5m is wide enough, you can fairly knock on, if you have short square fields maybe wider. Long fields a wider shoe wouldn’t make a load reach the far end and I prefer not take whole loads across whole fields.
Something to look at is number of outlets per metre. Just looking at Conor, the in house shoe has significantly less per metre than the Slootsmid they offered. We went with the Slootsmid and the tank is soon empty (much faster than a plate) and you have to fairy knock on to keep the rate where it should be.
7.5m Connor has 30 outlets where as the 7m Storth has 32,it’s a fair difference

2 extra pipes won't make much difference as its only a 6% increase, our bomech has 36 over 7.5 meters and even then the difference between that and a 30 is minimal, its better don't get me wrong but not a huge noticeable difference

Lovely set up. Unfortunately ours would have to be door mounted from slurrykat as the tanker doesn’t have brackets from the factory. It’s 6 years old now. I’ve got a quote sitting here. One black mark for slurrykat which is totally bizarre is there is no lights on it. Every other brand has them on the bar.

Are you using a flow meter or an app to measure your output?

Only got it before the ban so not done much. Seems to do a good job just have to remember to turn the macerator on 🙈. And you soon learn how thin the slurry needs to be to go through the pipes.

Got ours early September, so was rightly tested. Only jammed once after lowering a neighbour's for a that hadn't seen a pump in a while.

Why are you all dribble bars and not shoe? Any dribble bar work I have seen has just left it in sausages.

Possibly dribble bars are an easier option to retro fit than a shoe.

In my case, lighter, more compact, less tail swing, cheaper( won't feel as bad when the Dept. decide it's obsolete and it has to be parked at the back of the hedge.)
