Drill and Price Comparisons

If you can’t go contracting with it technically 🙄 I’d have to do a hell of a lot of difect drilling at home to justify one even with the grant

Is that going to comfortably hold a 500 kg bag of cereal seed, especially if there's a bit left in the tank?

The Simtech has a 900L 'box', which is about right for that size wise IME (much better than the old model anyway), although the oblong nature of box drills makes it more of a PITA of course.

i queried thus abs that say that it is marked as 750l but in reality over 825l.

but carrying too much weight also spoils drills imo anyway. a modest drill filler ( whcih wouldnt need a handler/loader in the field ) or simple hopper filler on the handler or loader or even a tie off /slider type spout of some sort on the bag is all doable practical options to sort the issue(s) .

Indeed. And it’s not hard to tie off the bag as it empties really.

The only thing with the grass one is its hoppers a little small and won't hold a 500kg bag, but I guess you could make a wooden extension that sits on top.

Also no roller but that's no big deal as you can Cambridge roll after no bother

Poverty spec sim tec or Moore 3m is about 25k before you start ticking any option boxes. That’s before any grant is taken into account.

I’ve had prices of both in last couple of days

The SMS Smart fits into the latest grant scheme as well after going through it with them. 3m wide direct disc drill with 200-800 litre hopper and various rear roller options. Pricing in same sort of ball park as the others in this band depending on options.
