Drilling anyone?

That looks nice going, will that be another 40 acre down by close of play tonight , hope the plough can keep ahead of the drill ,keep at it ?
Not nice going- heavy - just fetched the following Harrow across for my son as in the stickier bits the slots were still open. Just spoken to them and I think they are getting into some wetter spots now so may not get it done today

Quick tip which I think will sort the photo orientation issue. Whichever way you are taking the photo on your phone, turn it 90 degrees and take the photo that way.

It's so far been ok today. I've a carpet of volunteer barley to spray off so tomorrow I may go and mark the tramlines with an auto steer tractor. Then wait for a calm day.

2 drying days ruined in 15mins ffs
I was going to quote Monty Python but thought better of it.
We can't seem to get one effing day down here!
Going to have to bit the bullet and get some fym spread soon in less than ideal conditions just to move on.
It's going to be a good test for a first go at strip tilling I guess.

Leave the muck in the heap till next year , if it’s less than ideal conditions the damage the spreaders do the muck won’t out do it better get it drilled and worry about muck next back end drill round of in field

Another 30ac done today on maize ground that was cleared yesterday. Travelled well for the most part.

Tried a section of ex-bean ground and decided to chuck it - chopped straw and wet spots ruin the job. 80% of the field is fine to drill - headlands are the worst bits.

Had a go drilling some barley today after loading a couple loads of wheat.not ideal and wet underneath but going in well considering over 110mm in last couple weeks.ploughed and rolled land and normally use front springtime on drilling tractor but too wet for that so using press mainly to balance tractor turning at ends.hopefully have a go on another fresh ploughed bit tomorrow where I was close to getting stuck on Saturday.and no problem can’t drive straight
