Drilling peas with a Claydon

I am looking for opinions on drilling peas with a Claydon.

I have never drilled peas with the Claydon before but a customer is interested in doing so.

We have drilled these fields with the Claydon for the last 2 years and the land is reasonably light and is in good condition. There are no ruts and i do not think compaction will be a problem.

Thanks in advance.

As a pea grower, apart from the stone issue, the one thing that would concern me about Claydon drilled peas is the rigg and furrow nature of the drill finish, but if it can be rolled flat, then it will not be a problem.

The batterboard/green harrow combination on a Hybrid would sort that usually, if not I would rake or use rolls with front levelling boards.

I've sprayed peas drilled with a Claydon, two years now. They've done superbly. 3 inch spoon, either very shallow power Harrow or just Harrow post drilling to level everything right up, roll.
Job done.
Absolutely zero sign of compaction, unlike conventionally planted peas in the next field which had yellowed wheeling marks all over.
Customer has been very happy with them.
