All of that will be done with the Avatar, another block of ground has been done by a contractor with a pronto because it was getting late. The Claydon is hibernating still. Do you suffer with uneven germination when using the Claydon?

Uneven seed depth is the downside of fixed coulters especially on uneven ground. You’ve got more experience with these than I have! Got the top link set right so the depth is the same front and back rows now.

Might be a bit uneven with a tine like claydon drills have but after a month you won't notice the difference been drilling with the same seed boots as claydon use for the last 20 years on our old willrich drill and it always grew a good crop.
I think that with most tine drills you will get a bit of unevenness .if you want consistent depth the best way is a disc drill, until you have to encounter a hell of a lot of stones .

I appreciate that on Beans there’s no option but here I think I will probably not bother with barley pre ems this late in the year
My serviced agronomist has advised the same. Drilling this late the crop will hopefully cover the ground quickly and no give Amg a chance.

Planning to still go ahead with it on fields that always put up a lot of volunteer rape.
