Drilling seed and Fert together?

Our drill is seed only. If I blend DAP with our seed will it be ok or will it separate as it is being sown?
I very much doubt it will separate, but I wouldn't recommend leaving it in the drill for long.
Your metering system will wear much faster too.

I've had some good results with Consortium Z and Bugboost in sugar beet and potatoes

Hi, is the potato comparison yours? If so how was the trial laid out. Multifactorial replicated block trial? Coefficient of Variation and an LSD produced are not quoted on the Emerald trial result?

Yes its mine.

What on this fine earth is a Multifactorial replicated block trial when its at home?

LSD is an illegal drug or a fitted to a front axle in my world

It was a tramline trial. 13 beds with Consortium, 13 beds without, all equal length. Kind land so little soil. Produce put over weighbridge, divided by area.

Mzuri, on our second one. Goes really well and back up fantastic. No pictures to hand sorry, but will have plenty through the season.
We demo'd a Mzuri alongside a competitor this back end. Night and day different, in every respect. Impressed.

Still a way to go then before a biostimulant would/could replace any fertiliser by the sounds of it.
That’s wat I’m thinking. With the price of fertilizer this year some are going to be sucked in to buying the latest and greatest pixi dust that makes all the non available nutrients magically re appear as gods gift to farners. If and I say if it works your only mining the soil, long term you’ll loose yield and probably blame something else for a poor crop.

We strip til here and find fertiliser in the row has transformed spring cropping on heavy land. Crops are hedge to hedge even and are using less P & K as it is concentrated under the crop. Yields have increased and fertiliser rates have dropped so happy in general. Have micro granular applicator in drill as well so interested in bio stimulants as well...
Strip till in the states is mainly concentrated on maize, very interested myself in trying it on cereals. What separation and depth are you getting the fertilizer. What row spacing.

Different concepts in US & UK. It’s a strip drill here as opposed to strip til. Basically a one pass drill that drills direct into untouched stubbles by creating a strip of cultivation. Fert is placed down front leg about 4” of separation under the seed. Row spacing is 333cm with a 5” band seed opener.

That’s good separation. Sounds similar to my concord air seeder. It was on 12 inch rows with a 6 inch band of seed But lacked the fertilizer under the row. Going down 4 inches below the seed here would ruin the integrity of the seed bed as my clay would boil up and leave a mess.

The soil does lift but the drills wheels run in line and reconsolidate before the seed coulters. You can get too much soil boil if you travel to fast.
