Drilling with Fendt gps headland

Is there a way to get the tractor to lift the drill automatically when crossing the headland? I use the Go / End button with a pre recorded sequence for pto/cruise/lift arms but I was wondering if I could fully automate it so that the tractor drops her in and lifts her out when you cross the magic line.

At the moment I have the headland set at 15m and I just hit Go / End when I am crossing it, it's just a little hard to judge the Ins vs the Outs to keep it tidy.

Yes you can if you have the right unlocks. Hopefully TFFs new video hosting will work here.

Also, this YouTube channel has a lot of good explainers. https://youtube.com/@fendthowto9918?si=--uWm4_6iCKnXoJE

While we are on Fendt gps. I have a gen 6 with section control and a vaderstad drill with the ipad controller. It’s fine doing the centre of the field but when i move to contour segments to do the headland it does not “paint” the map correctly depending on how i set the tractor set up it’s either all the time or not at all. The only solution is to turn off section control in the drill task manager.

Both drill and tractor on latest software and dealer as flummoxed as me

I’m discing in the chicken muck now, can’t get it to paint because the discs are lifted on a hydraulic ram rather than the rear lift arms.

But I have got it turning the tractor and lifting and lowering the discs automatically.

If you do use headland turn, check the preview page first because the black turns are where the tractor will reject the turn. Don’t fall asleep!

Ps @Clive, it’s a job to cram my wisdom into 30 second clips, can they be made longer?

great use of clips - will look at extending for size, if you record lower quality you will get longer though in the meantime

re your discs lifted on ram - you can get a (cheap) implement switch that plugs into the iso can to make it work in this situation - all our machines are trailed so work like this 👍

Can you not just change the settings in implement page so it engages on the hyd function not your lift arms

Awesome @Daniel

Anyone know what this sensor might be for on our drill? Never noticed it before, it was cabled tied up out of the way not in use. Strange that it doesn't seem to be needed and it's on a wing nut. Lemken Solitair 9

iPhone has either HD or 4K as the quality settings, HD allows 30 seconds?

Ah!!

Worked it out, it’s on this line.

Painting happily now, though it doesn’t really matter on the discs. Still working out the details on this Gen 6 screen 2 years later, it definitely rewards learning how to use it.

Thanks for the tip.

If the machine doesn’t follow well on the screen change it to steering axle on that page. won’t make much difference with your discs, definitely does with a vaddy drill.
