Thanks everyone.

So...

1st run around field - Half Width
2nd run around field - Full Width
3rd run around field - Lay Tramlines
Then back and forth until the field is done

This should work...?
Yes, tip; the tramlining will be on in the same direction every time (same direction as first run), if you notice its not you have had an errror, stop and find out where it should be and carry on dont leave a half spray width for the year.. better to leave an unused tramline.

All help greatfully accepted...

Soon, I will be sowing winter cerials, but for the first time ever I will be laying down Tramlines.

Three Meter Box Drill, not on a Power Harrow. I have a 12m Sprayer.

Just pondering the best way to go about it...

Thanks everyone!
Tramlines!?! What sort of new fangled black magic is that!

As said above/before, shut one half of drill off on first run, then full run, then tramlines.

The backing in with the tractor is a good idea on every tramline. Depending on how often you want to get off 🙈, couple of short lengths of chain to mark the tramlines that you hook/unhook (I did say depends how often you want to be getting on and off....)

When doing a half wide with an accord metering system I assume everyone just double drills 1.5 or 2m over lap on the 2nd run????

Edit I use the pre em markers even if I'm not pre em'ing just so if I get in a muddle with the rythym I haven't got to pace the who field out just go back over the last 24m.

If the old fella tramlined , we'd get nothing done. He stops every end as it is.
Hydraulic turnover mechanism has him a bit stumped at best of times.

As I'm sure GPS etc would me....
My dad came to visit one summer and autumn. I put him on a cultivator thats 60 ft. He refused to use auto steer but by lunch time the field looked f ing terrible. Ten minutes of instruction and frustration and he never missed a bit. Straight too. The old bugger wouldn’t let me take over at dark as he loved that job. At 88 he was never too old to learn. The amount of times he told the story that his life had gone down hill as he started his farming life with horses and ended up driving a CAT. Miss the old man now.

Sadly, we never fully appreciate the previous generation till they are gone
