drop point on Kuhn 40.1 W

Hi all.

I have just mounted our fert spreader on a bateman skid which makes the spreader a lot higher then it would be on the back of the tractor.

Just wondered if anybody would know what the drop point adjustment would be to maintain the correct spread before i lay out the trays to do a pattern test. Dont want to waste to much N getting it right.

Fert we are using is nitram.

Plus would the boarder deflector settings change.

The ballistic characteristics of the fert determines how far it will travel. The big influence is how hard you chuck it (disc speed) machine angle and height.

However the affect of height should be minimal as long as it's not to extreme with Nitram, as it's good quality, and consistent.

I would place any settings in the middle, then tray test.

Used to run a 40.1 as a remount on a sands.
On the advice of tray testing chap from SCS we reduced drop point by 0.5 if spreader was more than 70cm above crop
worked fine at that

morning.

just done tray test over some grazed grass so we needed to move drop point by 1 on slide. When it comes to late top dressing i think i will just move it the 0.5 as height difference will be a lot less.
