    You are right.
Wouldnt call it a shower but had very light drizzle for about 5 minutes Easter Sunday Morning. Never even dampened the soil surface.
Crops look OK at the moment but Spring sown stuff would certainly be a lot better for a drink next week.

We don't have our own irrigator, but those who do must be getting tempted to give their wheat a drink?

Missed us again! Stayed north. Least I'll get finished rolling what was drilled yesterday, up to date with pre emergence spray. Fert applied 2 weeks ago on newly emerged spring barley 2 weeks ago still on surface.

Not going to spray it now, next weeks cold will stress it enough.

Might have to irrigate a field of beet at Prickwillow, but will wait on the wheat ATM.

Should get rain next week to make it work.

  7. Walked the grass leys with the Agronomist yesterday to look at the poor herbicide effectiveness. We concluded it's mostly down to lack of moisture and the weeds just aren't growing enough for a good kill :inpain:

  8. If you bought a can of petrol or a can of baked beans and they didn't work, you'd get your money back. Seemingly not so with the agrochemical industry

I see it all moving down the country on rain radar, but breaking up all the time so not expecting much, if any at all.

    Just new to this forum.
I am getting worried about the lack of rain.
Irritators have been on cereals all week, just moving to wash in pre-em on tatties and onions now will need a little drink later next week.
Springs and ditches that are normally at full throttle are dry.

Conditions, lack of moisture. I meant you have my sympathy if it didn't come across like that.
