Drought

Problems will really appear on ground ploughed now, when it finally does rain. All the rubbish left on top will germinate, the hardcore seed Bed(?)will be impossible to firm, being full of holes and cracks and will become a sponge. Wheelmarks will become canyons, and the loose sloppy ground will block everything

Getting to be a worry, yesterdays farming is getting closer, and thats the only chance to get the rust off plough and self, before first match.
Took mine out yesterday afternoon after 36mm of rain this weekend, thought it would plough nicely but was not the case, lumpy and horrible and looking at the soil you'd have never known it had rained, 1st match here next w-end if not combining SB

rain went straight down the cracks, most of it ran straight off the lumps in between them!

This was actually on some very kind soil that had no cracks or even stones!! Bit like sand but not sand, polishes boards etc like a mirror so after the rain thought it would be ok down to ploughing depth but sadly not

I have the plough entered in a "Farm built or modified machine" class at a match! Probably the only class it will compete in! Plenty of time to clean and paint it though.
