Drought

It is the trees that are stressed here, not me.
You have to be thankful it is good hay making weather, I am thankful my apples escaped frost damage this year and most of all it is less miserable than wading around in mud.
Same here - glad we missed frost - blossom was as good as we could have hoped for - unfortunately its now starting to look like the Gobi desert in places....

We'll be diversifying into camels at this rate!

Blowing a gale here for the second day 13 degrees less further out by.
It was looking droughty until Friday but we have had some rain for short periods on Friday and Saturday which has moistened the soil.
Rainfall is generally low for the time of year nearest reservoir is 50% capacity which is unheard of for this time of year. As I’m writing this I’m thinking there’s likely some wet weather to come. Not got any silage crops ready to cut but more grass on than usual

I saw some spring barley in Northumberland today , that hardly warranted a combine going near it. About 9ins tall and thin .
it was clean though , which is more than can be said for some of mine as the rain we’ve had has caused a late flush of wild oats .

What day do I cut grass of this forecast ?
