changing climate, or climate change, its having an effect, the trouble is, we don't really know which is right. But, prepare for the worst, and hope for the best !

But it is affecting us, negatively. So, make the best of the good years, and hope they carry us through the bad ones.
Don;t disagree and for us 2018 was a lot better than 2020 or 2021, we have switched to direct drilling everything but taking this as a business model with 3t/a budgets is something some land lords and agents don;t want to see.

IF this was going to be the long term weather pattern, I would pile in more irrigation kit, swap tatties to trickle, use the guns or booms on cereals, we have plenty of water "here" although knowing my luck that will be nationalised by Alba PLC to rake in more to their coffers.

If it doesn’t we will have to have a think
just been round a lot of the grazing, with the feed rep, silage sample, and hay samples taken. remarked we had some good grass, we have, as l told him, and he agreed, week or so, we'd have grazed the lot, what then ? Red clover is quite stemmy, so fed with some hay, and run back, should give us 2 weeks rotation length gain.

It is the trees that are stressed here, not me.
You have to be thankful it is good hay making weather, I am thankful my apples escaped frost damage this year and most of all it is less miserable than wading around in mud.
Oh sorry Kidds, I'm a worrier. The hay is keeping me busy.

Almost cleared what is down, having a tea break, then finish this batch of hay & off to set rope bangers off, I think pigeons will have enjoyed themselves while I've been distracted.

Sometimes farming in a bog is OK. The hay fields cleared last Friday are greening up a treat. The baler nearly got stuck...

It will turn into a water feature when it rains...
