Drum mowers

I saw that - Samasz on the plate and almost identical to our old Zetor which I think was close to the km22

I’ve just bought a new to me vicon 168 - where the red paint has worn off its light green underneath, guess it’s a sanmasz in different colours really!

we run a Samasz 2.10 for last 15 years? was new and cheap at the time and excellent on heavy crops. Made some spacers earlier this year to spread the drums to cut about 3.5 / 4 inches and changed to different type of blades, handed and cranked.

It's funny how you don't want to go back once you have one even a tiny bit wider. I have a 1.67 I used happily for years, and kept it as a spare as it wasn't worth much when I bought the 2.10, but using the little one is torture now and seems so slow.
It’s the same with all implements. Once you try bigger, anything less is just, well no good. Demonstrating an 11.0m Tedder this year and it makes the memories of a mounted 8.0m just seem sooo small

Best mower ever on this farm was an MF 70 mower conditioner, 7ft 6" twin drum, driven by a Ford 5000. Steel tines on rubber mounts for the conditioner unit, doing a gear higher than our neighbours Kidd on a 7610 with similar crop. Or near neighbour with Vicon 8ft on a Case 1694.
Best conditioner on a mower within three parishes but one heavy implement to lift. Only say as I see................... Others will no doubt say different.:cautious:
