Dry suckler cow with mastitis/ruptured 1/4 - Thoughts & advice please

Hi, short history first - we've a dry cow here with mastitis. She had a section last year and wouldn't catch to AI or the bull. Whilst running with the bull this summer one of the other calves must have tried her udder and led to infection setting in.

Initially we treated her with 3 short and one long penicillin, we could't strip her as she was kicking like a mule. After this she was back out and held to the bull, one week later the mastitis flared up again. We gave her a larger course of penicillin, during this she shed the egg :( and since gong back out the 1/4 has ruptured just behind the teat about the size of the teat, black and crusty. Now She's held again to the bull........

As we've never had a ruptured udder here so I'm wondering if it would be possible to take her through to calving or will this continue to cause infections etc? She has the capacity to easily rear a calve on 3 teats but I'm wondering will the rupture play havoc with the whole bag ?

I sort of think she should be put of asap to get something back but on the other hand I'd like to get another calf from here as she's from a good line.

Regards
