Bought this in the end ,£5650 for a 2010 model seemed alright , works well so far , not that much slower than a Samson rear discharge I used to hire
Teme Valley tractors in welshpool . It's not perfect mind , the tensioner on the duplex chain has come to the end of adjustment and some of the teeth tips are knocked of on the big cog , looks like it has been run slack at some point , I needed to put new lights on the back , front were fine all works fine though and runs like clockwork .Where did you find that for that money? We are on the look out for another one but all way more money than that.
You'd be far better with a new chain. There's not enough adjustment to remove half a link let alone a full link.Teme Valley tractors in welshpool . Does anyone know if there is enough adjustment in the tensioner to allow a link to be taken out of the duplex chain or do I need to bite the bullet and get a new chain ?
Thanks, saves me from experimenting !You'd be far better with a new chain. There's not enough adjustment to remove half a link let alone a full link.
Also if the chain is that stretched it won't be sitting on the big sprocket properly and will quickly wear it.
You'll be surprised how cheap a chain will be
I did briefly contemplate it on a west I was playing with a couple of weeks ago but it wasn't worn enough to lose a half link. If it was worn enough then it would have been climbing up the teeth on the big sprocket. Thanks, saves me from experimenting !
I would agree with this, we bought a 1300 in 2002, had it for 11 years and it had seen a lot of cattle and poultry muck, when we sold it the paint work was still great for its age. Traded it for a 3000, the paint work was terrible, after a 2 years looked like our previous 11 year old machine. Our dealer contacted West and we were sent some paint!!We've had 1600 west's since the late 80's, they are worst ever time we change it , were it won't leak for several years, now they seem to leak from new and paint was pealing off the latest one within months, but I can't find anything else which will do the job better, but did like the look of the khun spreader and if it was a bit bigger I think I would have one.
