How've you done it, slotted the holes on the leg ?
Lol!!!! No, do you know how hard that steel is?? No there are other ways, yes just bodies must be in ploughing position, same as you boys. It doesnt actually make that much difference just looks much cleaner and satisfying to do when it is tilted.
I did it originally as we get put in the Vintage mounted Class at quite a few matches where they dont have a Fergie Class and you cant really compete with a Ransomes in the split department with a Fergie, but can when tilted.
The last 4 ploughs I've built for others have all had it on them. Sure Harry would have done it himself!

Skinny bolt and let it droop?

Yep, I never understand that, I don't like the way they do that, it spoils the start. Vintage classes can put together pretty low cops, I don't see the need to push it down, especially when it makes those two furrows look different to the others, should be marked down on uniformity and general appearance. Should mention it to a world style judge next time I see one...
As a judge I hate seeing the cop looking like it has been pressed down with a trowel, just doesn't look part of the plot, I have even seen it done on joining furrow in Reversible ploughing at a world match by the Irish, looked totally out of place, but they still managed to get 12 points for it. This style of cop is done by every body at world level and if we are going to compete we have to follow suit, but it would be interesting if someone did a normal start in a world match, and see how they judge it 😎😎

It is in the ploughing position, I have ploughed a whole practice plot with it lifted and Jon Cole has ploughed a whole match plot!! It’s quite a fight and you just can’t figure out what’s wrong as the plough still makes a reasonable job! I don’t know if he uses it but I’m sure John crowder can drop the back leg on his trailing plough! But yes I agree it’s just another bloody thing to remember to put back!!😂😂
hence the need for an aide memoir

So, the thread has been hijacked, but why bother to lift a body/frog a few mm to make an imperceptible difference? With a plate and 4 holes you can pump up the whole leg by inches within the rules (pics to follow). I have a long-ish landslide on the front leg, raise the rear and romp off to the poles, then have a little smoke.
