Dump line in herringbone

Anyone retro fit a dump line in a herringbone? Is it a success and any issues with washing after?

Seen one once in a 20:40, had 5 dump line units evenly spaced (think there were only 2 units, but 5 points to plug them into). I think it was mostly made up from bits of the guys old parlour.

Looked perfect, transferred milk into a large receiver vessel in the tank room.

Wash shouldn't be an issue if setup correctly.

Came with a parlour that I bought so put it in and it’s great. Just make sure you have enough well spaced plug in points.

What diameter line are they? Is it just like a small diameter normal milk line?

I have just found over 200m of glass pipe, mostly I assume from when we milked in byres. But also was quite a bit in the wash line in the old parlour I just removed.

Dump line is 60 mm. Main line more like 90 mm. Not sure if that is what you would call small diameter normal or not?!

I remember the shippon line being 32mm personally you'd want 40mm minimum.

8/16 i bought for bits had a 70mm milkline,my old 12/24 had 75mm then doubled up had x2 75mm my 32/64 I used 101mm ?

Do you have a variable speed milk pump?

No need,have a very large receiver vessel,twin pumps for washing though.
