Durable / Farm Friendly Mobile Phone Recommendations

So my dad seems to be going through cheap flip phones at quite a rate. Think he must be crushing them in his pocket as he's now on to his 3rd or 4th this year. Can any of you recommend some good models of mobile phones?

My old man has a Doro easyphone that he has not managed to break for a few years

Don’t get the JCB tough phone. They have just been issued to me to replace a pager for alerting for my retainer role.... bloody awful. Very easy to turn it off in your pocket by mistake even though it’s locked. Either that or it turns its self to silent in a similar way. It’s an Android so very sketchy compared to an iPhone

Have a look at the Samsung Xcover range.

I've had an Xcover 2 for 4 years before I finally killed it. (Microphone died - probably full of meat dust). Previously my smartphone had a life expectancy measured in days, or in the case of my wife's Galaxy A5 which I borrowed last week about 35 minutes:oops:.

I've just got myself an Xcover 4 and while it doesn't feel quite as tough as the 2, it had survived its first day of cattle feeding and falling from my pocket while climbing into the sprayer cab.

I'm no fan of iphones, but a colleague on the farm had similar luck to me with killing phones and got himself an iphone 5s. I didnt expect it to last a week, but he's put it in one of those tough cases and it's still going strong.

Bought my son (9) and daughter (11) each a CAT S30. They are outside any chance they get and their phones have been faultless to date, Android operating system, robust, IP rated and not too bulky, great battery life also. Cost about £125 each.
I use a CAT S60 have had it about a year with no problems. Phones used to last me about 4-6 months, this thing is tough when it was three days old I dropped it out of my pocket whilst climbing aboard a JCB416S to talk to the driver, couldn't find my phone ended up it was under one of the cleats of the front tyre sitting on concrete clamp floor with a 14' buckrake of silage on, came out un-marked.
