Dutch on Mzuri

Anyone fitted Dutch openers to their Mzuri?

Our coulters are ready for replacement and just thinking about wether Dutch would fit? 5” single opener would be similar to MZuri coulters I believe., have the paired 5” at present but can block when scooping seed off the heap.

Can anyone tell me the centre hole distances on the Horsch conversion frog? As would need a set of these in order to fit.

I didn't know there was a conversion kit. Are you running the newer style coulters that came out 2-3 years ago, or the older style that fits together in three pieces? The newer style looks very similar to a horsch/bourgault vos coulter to me, held on with one roll pin, and I don't think I've had them block up with straw, although the older ones hardly did either.

Running the old ones at present which are worn out. Had a price for converting to new style which are similar to VOS as you say. Remember seeing a ProTil for sale once with Dutch coulters but they don’t offer an off the shelf option.
The hole distance for the roll pins which hold the original old style coulters on is 50mm centre to centre. Looks similar to the Horsch frog conversion kit so wondering if they might fit.. Would work out cheaper than converting to new style Mzuri coulters ..

We've done it with ours, used sumo legs and milled them down to fit. Result = 100% improvement on Coulter performance, both in wear rate and placement/disturbance. Tried to get Martin on board but wouldn't have it as they want it all to be 100% british build and they make there money in the spare parts so would make less on dutch Coulters. Our opinion of standard Coulters is there crap too much metal with seed ending up in the dry area at the edges of the horizon and to much disturbance.

Good stuff, thought someone must of done it. I got on ok with old coulters as not always that dry over here but I know what you mean about seed being placed on the dry edges. Had some sosr suffer due to this a few years ago. There is a lot of metal in the old ones and this is probably why they’ve changed to the new type lower disturbance which is similar to Dutch or bourgoult.

What Sumo legs did you mill down? Where did you get them?

Just changed to the new style to try and make them a bit more suited to drilling in the wet, as far as the cereal coulters go. Also less changing parts. I didn't really have any problems with the old style though, this season was a test for either.

Would you fancy to post some pictures of the conversion please.

That’s what I’ve got at present, albeit mine are worn out. What did you replace them with?
How much are you looking for them?
I went with the newer style, I feel they don’t throw so much dirt up, leave the seed in a better place, just better, easier to change too. The narrows are also way way better. I’ve no idea of a value to honest, DM me an offer if you like, I’d need to look into postage I guess.
