Looking at opener points for drilling cereals, I have 1" which were used on to plant osr but thinking row width is too wide for cereals. Which point would offer least disturbance and thighter row spacing? Also paired or open back?

Do you realize the Maximum width of the seeding band that the Coulter would enable? Seems like that should be around 18cm Band width of the Coulter, but narrower emerging rows, that are not paired?

I have got a Dutch opener point and leg to try fitting up on my sprinter , does the pipe on the picture need cutting off a bit or will it be ok

So with these Dutch openers it looks like you have to shorten the pipes? - what happens if you want to put the duetts back on?

Also will a 2” Dutch get the same depth as a solo?

Cheers dh
It might be better to take the rubber bend out of the equation and try fitting the seed hose direct to the Dutch coulter tube?

the seed tube on the coulter I’d the same size as the pipe. I cut the pipes back around 4-5 inches. The duetts are never going back on.

I ended up cutting a couple of inches off the pipes and used the original horsch coupling , it would probably be a neater job putting them straight onto coulters but pipes are a pretty tight fit

Horsch supplied a thing called a ‘flipper’ which sits on the underside of the main frame. We only managed to get hold of 4 which we put on the legs behind the tractor wheels. It does work put couldn’t get any more after Anderson stop suppling Horsch with the CO leg. Whether any more will come available??

My sprinter turned up today (second hand). Seed & Fert and came with Dutch openers with 5 inch points. They seem like a lump to drag direct through the soil. I've got loads of beans to put in as well as some wheat. i thought the 1 inch Dutch were the one to go for but having read the above it seams people rate the 2 or 2.5 inch points for beans. I could also use these for drilling wheat without moving a load of soil.

Also do the Fert tubes at the back of the leg get warn out when your drilling beans.
