Agriculture Regulatory Inspection Officers

Salary range - £28,785 to £34,208

Do you have a good knowledge of agriculture or other regulation in England and want to improve our natural environment? Would you like to be at the forefront of agricultural change? This is an exciting opportunity as we are recruiting a number of new officers across England to undertake regulatory inspections of farms.

We are looking for dynamic individuals ideally with experience and understanding of agriculture, or other regulatory activity, to work with farmers to increase their levels of compliance with existing environmental regulations. This will help farmers safeguard and improve the environment and ensure they are in a robust position to secure future funding through the Environmental Land Management Schemes.

This is a specialist role where you will be required to:

• Carry out targeted farm visits

• Engage with farmers to influence them to change their practice, which may involve difficult conversations

• Collect and report on data and findings

• Be willing to undertake regulatory enforcement action, prosecutions and the serving of notices, when needed

Didn't think it read that bad tbh
You can guess where a large part of the agricultural money is going to end up, you don’t think they are simply planning to fill one post do you!

50. !!!!

that’s a million and a half per year in wages alone
They’re offering a company van too
And these are additional employees on top of the many thousands they have already, all this political talk in the past of simplifying the system when they needed our votes is now shown up as the utter bvll crap it really is!

I was told last night NOT to go swimming or in the water near me for a few weeks - probably until mid September, sewage works can’t cope so their going to by pass it and put it straight into the small nearby harbour which the sewage plant is near. This small harbour is ram packed 14 hours a day at the moment 😬

It's a disgrace that they can do this, they dont seem to worry about the fines, perhaps if they fined the directors directly it would focus minds

This so called environmentally sensitive government shower continue to allow this to happen whilst at the same time criticising farmers, can you imagine the mess the UK gov would be in if all the farmers in this country stood together & banned sewage sludge being spread on farmland, come on NFU use the power you have!!

Where is the NFU on this, our local village has major sewage problems but they keep building houses because don’t worry folks we have a dyke nearby. This goverment is a total joke ,balls they haven’t got any for anything. Those that shout loudest get heard.Well how long before farming finally wakes up and stops this attitude of sod the rest of you I’m ok Jack. And on another note why is the EA telling us they have no money to clean rivers etc but clearly can fund jobs.As I have said many times clear the plug hole before you start building walls and shouting at folk who you flood.
