Ear defenders

I managed to break my old trusty ear defenders the other day and as I get older I find these to be an essential item when in the workshop.
Just wondering what other people are using, I like the traditional over your head type of ear muffs but they can be a bit of a pain when grinding rusty old steel with goggles and a dust mask. I see some folk use the ear plugs but I’m not a fan of the disposable ones and I’m not sure what the necklace type things are like.
What’s everyone else using??

have tried lots and moldex are far more comfortable than the 3m peltor

They get good reception which is remarkable here, I wear them on the quad doing my stock in morning now keeps ears wArm and get the radio they greAt.

We have 4 sets of these now, we all wear them while fencing, also great ear warmers in cold weather

Replace mine every other year with the green Peltor ones. The foam in ear defenders degrades over time and reduces efficacy.

Do you find they sap your phone battery if you’re using Bluetooth?
I tried a set of wireless buds but they walloped the phone battery, so I reverted to wired buds, with the wire tucked inside my shirt. Buds under defenders can be a bit uncomfy.

Yes they do, if I’m knocking all day then I’m charging my phone at midday just so it lasts past 3pm
We wouldn’t be without them, they provide entertainment and protection, we have a noisey job so it’s encouraged to keep them on your head

Well, I don't rate the peltor design, the plastic tends to break off where the wire slides in, not cheap either. I bought a husqvarna one that seems quite rugged. Also the actual noisemuffling part is changeable. Might be cost prohibitive, dunno.

i had a pair of them protear radio muffs but have broken out in 4-5 months useage and reccomendations for another set doesn't need to have bluetooth but would be nice.

My friend had a pair of ear muffs for shooting turn off n on while on your head while off they amplify sound excellent you can hear loads lol ?
