Ear tags for sheep

We find Shearwell and Symtag are pretty good. Don't get on at all with the Roxan auto taggers. The applicators keep breaking and the tags have very thin pins which rip out too easily.

What are you doing you break the applicators?

We have an original non eID auto tagger which will be 12yr old... and a tag faster eID auto tagger 4yr old, work perfect and solid built.

Just get the tag in the lamb before you put it on the lorry, no worries of them ripping or falling out.

For fat lambs I wouldn't use anything else

Sorry... I'm not on here all the time like some people so I don't know fully how this site works. Slight over reaction on the 100!

I don't know why they don't bring a chip system out like in pets, done once at birth then all ya have to do is send you're paperwork off an let movements do rest
I once asked a vet about that . Apparently the chips in pets have been found to migrate from the original site of application. I expect they're frightened of one turning up in somebody's lamb chop:eek::LOL:
