I stand corrected then21st is shortest daylenght.
Earliest sunset is today.
Latest sunrise is December 28 - so gets darker in monrings yet.

an old saying round here after 21st dec ive oft heard "nights are drawing out" not days are getting longer ,Id not realised before but for a few days sunrise is later though daylength is longer due to sunset getting later . 66 years and still learning mindst whatever folks say I prefer lighter nightsI used to think that both ends of the day got longer from the shortest day but always thought the evenings seemed to get lighter before the mornings did, then a brighter person told me they did
