Early calving

Our cows are calving 2-3 weeks early, the calves are definitely premature, all AI’d so dates are correct and in the absence of any disease or metabolic disorder our Vet has come up with Heat Stress. Anyone else have the same experience?

All my dairy calves seem to be coming 2 or 3 weeks early service dates are right as it’s before in a I start date yet calves look full term beef ones holding to date

Happened here summer 19 and 20 not this year could easily been heat

Ours are doing exactly the same! Calving start date was 28th July but already had 21 heifer calves on the ground by that date! Only 1 blue born even though as many due as dairy.

I’ve 50 on the deck and today’s first day off calving supposedly

We had it last year, July 20, put it down to heat.

I’ve dried all my September ones off so October ones left

Check the gestation length of the bulls u used and also the sires of your cows some bulls ive used were all 10 to 14 days before due date

Ours are 6 different sires 2 breeds and all standard length I just put it down to weather had the same last year what’s annoying it was only the first lot so the later ones who I would have liked to have a bit early came bang in time

I'm on day 3 of PSC and approaching 20% calved.

Consistently get calves weeks early on the autumn calving herd due to heat. Usually the most noticeable in heifers.
