Thinking of buying an early Renault Ares 620. Are there any problems with these tractors and is there anything we should look out for? Is it correct that the transmission is the same as a MF 6200 series, and are there any isses with these gearboxes? TIA.

I had a early 620rz years ago with the manual shuttle cab suspension i can honestly say its probably the most reliable tractor i ever owned had 9000hrs on when she left I honestly do wish id kept it. We went on to class after her as we thought they were a renault how wrong we could of been had 3 and were all bad news

I should add also that they are very easy to work on plenty if space to get at pipes ect under the cab engine bay ect unlike the jd i have now you need toddler hands for it lol

clutch can be quite sharp at high revs , would have no problem buying another renault ,you will get alot more of a tractor for your money as they are not that fashionable .

That'll be the same as MF 6100 then? The power shuttle models (Renault 6_6 models) are better, same as 6200

The ares is a good tractor just overlooked by people judging a book by its cover , I am a Massey man at heart but when changing my 3075 dynashift back in 2001 the price difference between a 6270 Massey and the Renault 630 RZ was £8000 so the Renault was bought, and worked daily for 2 years getting to 1800 hrs then I stoped farming and just use it for grass topping, and trailer work. the tractor is now at just over 3000 hrs and had no issues,

The cab suspension is the best on the market one pass work with 14 psi in tyres is sweet, trust me they are a good strong gripping tractor with basic electrical stuff , less to go wrong. the power shuttle is spot on but not quite as smooth as the 6270.

I would jump in the 630 before most tractors nowadays,

Any questions you have fire away I will try and help.
