Earthquake?

Mrs Danllan felt the place shake, I just heard what I thought was big thunder and didn't really feel anything.

What did your animals do? Our sheep didn't seem concerned at all, even the ewe-lambs who usually react to the unusual; but the cattle all crowded in a corner, being brave...

I did a geology degree and have been fascinated by earthquakes ever since. But it's the first earthquake I've experienced; having missed them many times, sometimes by mere minutes  in East Africa, Japan and Italy.

The epicentre was only about thirty miles East from us, but we are on a different fault system, so the shock was probably attenuated somewhat. People in England seem to have felt it more than here, it was even felt 200 miles away.
