Stars from "football, music and film" attended.

All 3 are global industries we could well do without if they were serious about climate change.

Celebs are personally responsible for and fuel more consumerism with the wider public than almost anything else.

If every person was given a carbon ration book, and either they were not trade able above a certain amount, or at certain milestones every credit was priced exponentially i.e at 2x or 4x the amount of the previous level that would really focus minds.

Top celebs would have an hourly carbon footprint to many peoples’ annual one.

No doubt they’d figure out a way to “offshore” that too. How long before “Carbon Havens” become a thing?!

Watched for few minutes. Were the people on push bike dyno things while coldplay played, using god knows how many kw of power to supply an arena's worth of speakers and a full on lighting show some kind of dark humour? I hope so and i hope the man responsible had a payrise 🤣🤣

I will take Chris Martin seriously when he steps away from his private jet. In meantime pure 'greenwash' virtue signalling.

Didn't see it, and if Coldplay were on then glad I was watching some paint dry, but as for the prize itself I would say that anything that normalizes concern for the environment, that makes it a mainstream thing for the general public to watch and learn about, then great.

I didnt see the prize ceremony last night , but i did watch the short series with william and david , and i will say it didnt demonise the usual targets and is mainly about new solutions worldwide , most of which were very sound and interesting (apart from uk rewilding one that was more about being a theme park for the luvvies) , I am the first critic picking holes in the normal greenwash but wont knock this YET , I suppose they needed a few high profile people to get attention so will ignore that for now,
if you have time its really worth catching up on iplayer at least you get the idea where they are heading

But if you are a high priest you are different.

Ed Sheeran should be playing local pubs in Suffolk

What does Takachar do? Is it basically a baler and a pelleter?

heard it called on the radio earlier “a glitzy ceremony.”

would that be with thousands of high powered stage lights and ladies wearing dresses that might only get worn once?

Apparently they were all instructed to wear previously worn outfits.

The carbon footprint of one of their dresses is probably 10x that of what "normal" people would wear though.
