Dont talk b.o.l.l.o.c.k.s , some are from long lines of easy calvers . Polled ones are usually easier than most , dont blame the bull if your cows are as fat as mud or tiny framed/pelvic breed either.

The advert is claiming easy Calvers so if the new owner of bull has problems with difficult calving can he claim damages... it happened a few times when we sold milk receiving a letter from MMB asking to give details about difficult or easy calving with particular bulls and we got a discount voucher

I only remember that for the progeny test bills, which were cheap because they were unproven.

All those returns, along with records today of relatives, go towards making a more reliable proof.

there are plenty of easy calving charolais, the trick is to look at the dam line to see where its come from. its easy to get a heavily positive bull stick it on a hard calving cow line and you end up with a positive score that doesnt have the best of traits that goes across all breeds. then theres the question of the cows that bull is going on...

Mate overheard a conversation at a recent bull sale between interested buyer and breeder . Buyer- i like this bull , would he be ok for friesian hfrs? (Breeder)- no i wouldnt like to use him on friesian hfrs, this bull further down here would be far better suited for your job.

Mate was amazed to see the buyer purchasing the bull he was warned off from buying🤦‍♂️no doubt when he has calving problems the bull and breeder will be blamed. You cant help some people!
