Easycare lambing %

What sort of lambing % would you expect off the above put to a terminal sire had no experience with wool shedders thinking of giving some a go

How long is a piece of string is probably the answer to this, as the breeding of Easycares and the ground they run on varies considerably. Mine have scanned either side of 170% the last couple of years, decent grazing but exposed and fairly thin soil near the coast.

My Exlanas this year did 220% but the last couple of years with the exact same management did around 180% which is much better!

I used to scan about 190-200% on kinder ground before we moved. Too many triplets, really.

I was talking to someone running Easycares this morning. He’d bought some that were bred from Cheviots and some bred from mules, but they were all ‘Easycares’. I’d imagine those out of mules would scan with a lot more lambs.

Ours have scanned high 190% the last 2 years not to bad for 3s was quite happy mostly 2s

My Exlanas---- this year we scanned 189% (lambs scanned/ewes mated)
We are now running 167% at 8 weeks old (lambs survived/ewes mated)
This is a bit better than the 5 year rolling average which is 187% scanned & 159% at 8 weeks

Within that the variation between mobs is from 174% tupped on 1000 ft downland to 199% tupped on dairy leys

Last two years have been 167% and 173%. Bred ‘pure’ on very light acidic soil with fairly mediocre old grass.

If you need to raise your lambing %,, take this years lamb crop of the ewes a month or so earlier .
